In this second Altova DatabaseSpy review, we would like to present you an application which can be used to test an array of SQL Server databases, like the built-in Server Explorer from Microsoft. If you are unfamiliar with the DatabaseSpy, it is a cross-platform tool which can be used to connect to, query, and manage databases across many different platforms. One of the main features of this application is the ability to connect to multiple databases at once. When set up, the app displays various tabs, of which you can chose to navigate through the list and focus on individual databases. Establishing connection to a database is performed in a matter of seconds. First, you enter the database server name or address, and of course the appropriate database credentials. Then, it is time to initiate the connection, by selecting the database you wish to use. When all is set up, the database can be accessed through a familiar tree structure. For instance, when you connect to an MS Access database, you will be taken directly to the tables. No need to browse through the entire database structure, as with Access 2003. Alternatively, you can use the tools to inspect databases, with the help of side panels. By default, you can browse through the entire database structure, with the help of multi-select. Further, you can right-click on tables, to open them. Using database features Other features include the ability to select a database through a window, with a tree-like navigation. Yet, you can also manually select the database. Here again, you have the option to use several items, such as data sources, SQL, design, data diff, schema diff, favorites, and even to edit contents. Once you are finished working, you can save your work by right-clicking on the desired objects. Later, you can export the database into a number of file formats, and you can even link custom, external tools you might need to develop your projects. A Good Setup for SQL databases As soon as you launch the program, the interface is pretty much set up, with tabs on the top and a familiar tree on the bottom. If you already have a database server, you can choose from available databases, or you can manually enter the server name or IP address. You can also enter the appropriate database credentials, and the program will establish the connection for you. Afterwards, it is time to begin work. If you select the database you wish to use b78a707d53
